Auto expert Tony Faria passes away

The University of Windsor has lost one of its most respected experts on business, and more specifically, the auto industry.

Tony Faria passed away last week at the age of 76.

Faria joined the Business Faculty's Marketing Department in 1975 and made a name for himself for tracking trends in the national auto industry, including its decline.

Even after he retired 11 years ago, he was sought out by media, both local and national, for his opinion.

Faria was also a graduate of Michigan State University.

He passed away on April 7.

He was cremated at the request of his family.
