Arson reveals illegal "cannabis act violation" in Kingsville

The Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a fire it believes was set intentionally in Kingsville.

Police responded to a call in on Road 3 East around 4:15 a.m. Monday where the firefighters were working on a fire between Peterson Line and Graham Side Road.

Those who contacted BlackburnNews.com said it was at a greenhouse.

During the investigation, police discovered what they call "a cannabis act violation" and called in the OPP Community Street Crimes Unit for help. They did not say if it was an illegal grow operation.

The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall has been notified.

Police said the investigation is in the early stages, but ask anyone with information to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be left online at www.catchcrooks.com.
