Coin vandal busted in west Windsor

Windsor police have arrested a 25-year-old man allegedly caught breaking into a coin-operated device.

Officers were called at around 1:20 p.m. Sunday to an apartment building on University Avenue West near Askin Avenue. Someone had called with a report of someone seen trying to tamper with a coin-operated mechanism.

The suspect ran before officers arrived, but he was seen about ten minutes later in the area of University West and Huron Church Road and taken into custody.

Travis Desrosiers of Windsor has been charged with break-and-enter to commit theft, and possession of a break-in tool.

These charges have not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
