LaSalle police arrest break-in suspect

A Windsor man is facing a number of charges after a break-in at a LaSalle business.

A Lasalle Police officer first noticed a man riding on a bike and carrying a large box of several packages of cigarettes. When the officer stopped the man, he also had a number of lottery tickets. The officer said the man could not provide a reasonable explanation as to how he got the items.

Other officers checked nearby businesses and discovered that a gas station store on Malden Road had been broken into. After investigating the scene and consulting with the store owner it was determined the items were stolen from that location.

The 40-year-old was arrested and charged with break and enter, theft, and possession of stolen property.

The property was seized and returned to the store owner.
