Windsor police investigate assault in local park

Windsor police are looking into an assault at an east-end park, involving at least two youths, that was caught on video.

According to several reports on social media, a young male was attacked at Forest Glade Optimist Park Friday night. In the video, which was posted in a Facebook group, the male is seen being kicked and punched by another male while someone else recorded the attack on a cell phone.

In a tweet Monday, police confirmed that an arrest was made.

Police have asked anybody who has shared or posted the video to remove it, in an effort to protect the victim. Minors can not be publicly identified as suspects under the Ontario Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Constable Talya Natyshak said in an email to Blackburn News that the investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released for the time being.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
