City of Windsor plans to offer camps this summer

The City of Windsor is planning to offer day camps at two facilities this summer.

Executive Director of Recreation and Culture Jen Knights indicated they are looking to start camps sometime after school lets out at the Forest Glade Community Centre and the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex.

An announcement will be made before registration goes live on the city’s recreation website.

Last summer, camps were offered at the WFCU Centre and the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex. However, with the mass vaccination site at the WFCU Centre, the city had to choose a different east end location.

Knights said they continue to work with the Windsor Essex County Health Unit to finalize all plans and ensure the camps are safe for children to attend and follow the regulations set out by the provincial government.

Around 100 children took part in day camps offered through the City of Windsor last summer.
