Drug charges after a crash in Windsor

A 41-year-old Windsor man faces drug charges after a crash in the west end of the city on Tuesday night.

Police on patrol thought they heard a crash near Sandwich Street and Brock Street around 9:30 p.m., and when they arrived, they found two badly damaged vehicles.

The driver of the one vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The other had fled on foot.

Officers got a description of the man and found him a short time later in the area of Brock Street and Baby Street, where he was arrested without incident.

During their investigation, officers found some cash and illicit drugs.

The man faces two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, leaving the scene of a collision, and failing to comply with a release order.
