OPP investigating arson in Lakeshore

The Essex County Ontario Provincial Police is investigating after two cars were set on fire on Diemer Crescent in Lakeshore early Thursday.

Officers were called to the home around 2:35 a.m. The fire destroyed the vehicles and caused minor damage to the residence.

Police determined three people were near the property around the time the fire was set. A red car was seen leaving the area shortly after the incident.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video in order to determine who is responsible for the crime. The OPP Crime Unit and West Region Forensic Identification Services are assisting the investigation and the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal has also been consulted.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
