$1-Million, $500,000 lottery tickets sold in Windsor

Somewhere, someone in Windsor is a new millionaire, while someone else has a lottery ticket worth $500,000.

After eight weeks and 17 draws, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation said it finally had a winner for its $70-million LOTTO MAX jackpot. Actually, there are two.

A winner in Toronto and one in B.C. will split Tuesday night's jackpot. That is $35-million each.

They were not the only big winners.

The corporation said of the nine tickets worth $1-million that were drawn in the MAXMILLION draw, one was sold in Windsor.

Another MAXMILLION prize winner in Windsor will split the windfall with another ticket holder and take home $500,000.

So far, the names of the winners have not been released. The OLG has to verify the wins first.

The next LOTTO MAX draw is on Friday, June 25. It is for an estimated $50-million jackpot and two MAXMILLION prizes worth $1-million each.
