SIU investigating after man injured in motorcycle collision

The Special Investigations Unit is investigating an interaction between the Windsor Police Service and motorcycle driver.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 24, an officer was involved in an interaction with the motorcycle driver in the area of Tecumseh Road East and Tourangeau Road.

The motorcycle crashed and the adult male driver was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The 49-year-old is facing charges of operation of a conveyance while prohibited, dangerous operation, failing to stop for a police officer, failing with release order and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Due to the injuries the man sustained, the SIU invoked its mandate and is investigating the interaction.  The provincial police watchdog investigates all police interactions resulting in serious injury, death, or allegations of sexual assault.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
