Stolen vehicle involved in crash on Hwy. 401

A 31-year-old is facing charges after allegedly crashing a stolen vehicle on Hwy. 401 on Friday morning.

Around 11:20 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on the 401 Eastbound near Ojibway Parkway. Before officers arrived, the driver of the vehicle ran away.

OPP officers, along with the Windsor Police Service Patrol Unit, K9 Unit, and Emergency Services Unit, located the man a short distance away. He was arrested without further incident.

The vehicle had previously been reported stolen to the Windsor Police Service. It did not sustain any damage as a result of the crash.

A Windsor man has been arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. The charge has not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
