Windsor opens Sandpoint Beach early

With temperatures climbing to 30 Celcius Monday and Tuesday, cooling off at the beach sounds like a pretty good idea.

The City of Windsor has announced it will open Sandpoint Beach almost a week early. Lifeguards will be posted there starting Tuesday, rather than Monday, July 5.

The beach is open with lifeguards on duty from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., weather and water quality permitting, until Sunday, September 5.

The city plans to open all six outdoor swimming pools next Monday, but reservations are available for outdoor fit lanes, aquafit, and recreational swimming before then.

Those wishing to book a reservation should call 519-253-2300 ext. 2907.

The city still has a few spots open for Day Camps, starting July 5. Parents can register their children online at ActiveWindsor.ca.
