Windsor man arrested after Dougall stabbing

A 29-year-old man was charged after an argument with another person ended in a stabbing.

Windsor police say it happened shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday on Dougall Avenue near Montrose Street. Before officers arrived at the scene, the victim left in a black vehicle while the suspect ran to a nearby home. Constable Darius Goze said officers took descriptions of both men.

The suspect was soon discovered at the home and arrested without incident. Officers from the Major Crime Unit obtained a warrant and searched the premises.

Police later learned that the victim drove to a hospital to receive treatment for stab wounds.

The suspect, from Windsor, is charged with one count of assault with a weapon. This charge has yet to be proven in court.

The Major Crime Unit is still investigating this incident and has asked residents in the neighbourhood to check security camera footage for anything unusual that took place around the time of the incident.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
