Windsor buffet fire causes $75K in damage

An early-morning blaze at an east Windsor restaurant caused about $75,000 in damage.

Windsor Fire and Rescue said firefighters were called to the Ming Wah Chinese and Sushi Buffet on Tecumseh Road East off Park Drive, shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The fire was put out quickly, but crews stayed on scene for most of Tuesday morning performing overhaul and determining the cause.

The cause was eventually deemed accidental. Officials said the fire started due to an electrical fault.

No injuries were reported. Fire officials say the restaurant is currently closed.
