Man pulled from Detroit River Thursday

Windsor police say a person was taken to hospital after an incident on the riverfront Thursday morning.

Police and numerous EMS crews were called shortly before 11:30 a.m. to the area off of Riverside Drive East and Moy Avenue. Officers had responded to a call about someone in the Detroit River.

Constable Talya Natyshak said an officer entered the water to help with rescuing the person.

The man was then rushed to a local hospital where no word has been provided on his condition.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
