Male suspect charged in string of July break-ins

Windsor police have taken a man into custody following an investigation into a series of break-ins throughout the city last month.

According to investigators with the Windsor Police Service Target Base Unit, a number of local businesses reported break and enter's between July 12 to July 29, 2021. Not long after the probe into the incidents was launched, police said they identified an adult male suspect involved in the operation.

On Thursday, police confirmed they located the suspect last Tuesday, August 3, at around 11 p.m. in the area of Howard Avenue near Grand Marais Road East where he was arrested without incident.

Investigators later executed a search warrant at a motel on Howard Avenue where several items of evidence were seized.

As a result, a 39-year-old Windsor man faces several charges including attempting a break and enter, two counts of mischief to property, two counts of break and enter with intent, break and enter to commit a theft and committing a theft during a break and enter.

The charges against the accused have not yet been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
