Essex announces new CAO

Doug Sweet has served the Town of Essex as its Manager of Arenas, Director of Parks and Recreation, Director of Community Services, and Deputy Chief Administrative Officer.

Now, he has been named the new Chief Administrative Officer. Sweet starts on September 7.

"Doug has a wealth of experience and organizational knowledge, which makes him the perfect fit to lead the Town of Essex team," said Mayor Larry Snively.

Sweet replaces Chris Nepszy, who recently accepted a job with the City of Windsor.

He'll be responsible for overseeing town operations, coordinating interdepartmental programs and projects, and decision-making.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
