Scooter driver facing drug charges

A Windsor man is facing a number of charges after being stopped by police on a motorized scooter.

Constable Darius Goze with the Windsor Police Service said the man was stopped after committing a Highway Traffic Act offence.

After the scooter was stopped, officers determined the scooter had been reported stolen.

The driver was arrested and charged for possessing property obtained by crime. While being search, police say the driver has some drugs and money on him.

The 51-year-old man is also facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking crystal methamphetamine and possessing red fentanyl.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
