One in hospital after one of two county crashes

The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating two crashes in the county on Saturday night. One resulted in life-threatening injuries.

Around 7:15 p.m., members of the Lakeshore OPP detachment arrived at the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Renaud Line near County Road 22.

Firefighters from Lakeshore Fire and Rescue extricated a 40-year-old woman with critical injuries from her vehicle before paramedics rushed her to the hospital.

Later that night, officers from the Kingsville detachment got a call about a two-vehicle crash on County Road 29 and County Road 18.

While talking to one of the drivers, police said it became apparent the woman had been drinking, so they conducted a roadside test before taking her to the detachment for more testing.

A 28-year-old woman from Windsor now faces two impaired driving charges and is expected to appear in the Windsor Ontario Court of Justice on September 15.

Her license was automatically suspended for 90 days while her vehicle was impounded for a week.

The OPP is still investigating both crashes and asks anyone with information to call them at 1-888-310-1122. Anyone who wants to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip online at www.catchcrooks.com.
