Arrest made in Essex County car thefts

The Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged a man believed to be responsible for a number of property crimes over the last six months.

Since March 2021, police have been investigating a spree of vehicle thefts and multiple property thefts throughout Essex County.

On September 7, the Community Street Crimes Unit located a suspect and made an arrest with the help of the Emergency Response Team.

A 32-year-old man from Tecumseh is facing a number of charges including theft under $5,000, break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime and possessing break-in instruments. The accused has been remanded into custody pending a future court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
