Lasalle police investigate bank robbery

Lasalle police are investigating a robbery that took place on Saturday morning at CIBC Bank on Malden Road.

The incident occurred around 9:45 a.m. when a male entered the bank, approach a teller and demanded cash.

Police said no weapon was used during the incident.

The teller complied and handed over a sum of money after which the suspect promptly left the area on a bicycle. Witnesses were not able to see which direction he went.

Police said the male is described as approximately 5’8″ tall with a thin build.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing sunglasses, a pull-up face mask, a grey hoodie with the hood up, a black t-shirt underneath that had red trim at the bottom, and black gloves.

No one was physically injured in this incident, police said.

No further details are being released at this time while police continue to investigate.

Anyone or any business in the area with video surveillance cameras is being requested by police to check their footage for possible evidence.
