A cohort of students and some staff are being told to quarantine after a positive case of COVID-19 was detected at a Windsor school.
The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board was notified on Sunday that a student at St. Rose Catholic Elementary School has tested positive for the virus.
The school board has been working with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit to identify and contact both students and staff who have been in close contact with the affected student.
"We learned of the confirmed case this morning and have notified the affected students that they are not to attend school Monday," the board said in a news release. "The health unit will notify those students when they are able to return to school."
Parents are also being asked to continue monitoring their children for COVID-19 symptoms.
"We want to assure parents that we are cooperating with the health unit and doing everything we can to make sure that we continue to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for their children," the board said.
