Dougall Ave fire now deemed suspicious

Investigators are taking a closer look at a residential fire near downtown Windsor on Friday morning.

Windsor Fire and Rescue crews were called around 11 a.m. to Dougall Avenue and Erie Street West. 

The fire was put out within an hour. No injuries were reported.

The scene was held as a crime scene after the investigation determined that the fire's origin was suspicious. The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office and the Windsor police's arson unit are working with Windsor Fire on the probe.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything unusual in the area at that time or with security camera footage to share to call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4330. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
