Protesters target Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Windsor

If you are planning on going to Windsor's new Chick-Fil-A restaurant, you might see protesters.

Members of Windsor's LGBTQ+ community will demonstrate in front of Devonshire Mall against the company. The protest starts at 9:45 a.m. and will continue all day.

They claim the company's CEO has donated millions of dollars to organizations that advocate sterilizing transgender people and conversion therapy.

"We will not support a business that violates human rights and dignity," said a release.

Construction on the new restaurant on Howard Avenue began last March, and it opens on Thursday. It will employ 150 full and part-time staff.

The LGBTQ+ community began raising concerns about the company's plans to locate in Windsor in December 2019.
