Harrow man charged after woman struck by vehicle while gardening

A Harrow man faces charges after a crash that killed a woman while she worked in her front garden.

The Ontario Provincial Police say 56-year-old Daniel Brook will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor charged with careless driving causing death.

The charge, made public on Tuesday morning, has not been proven in court.

Evelyn Greenwood was working in her front yard on Heritage Road in Kingsville just after noon on September 6 when a vehicle struck her.

The 69-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash also closed Heritage Road between Harold Cull Drive and Conservation Boulevard for several hours while police investigated.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
