Two arrested in drug investigation

The Windsor Police Service seized nearly $200,000 of illicit drugs during an investigation by the Drugs and Guns Unit.

Constable Darius Goze said investigators launched an investigation into the suspected trafficking of illicit drugs in the summer. During that investigation they identified a suspect, a vehicle, and residence believed to be involved in the operation.

On Monday afternoon, police found the suspect in a parking lot on County Road 42. The suspect and the woman he was with were both found in possession of controlled substances and were arrested without incident.

Drugs were also seized from the involved vehicle.

Later Monday night, police searched a home on Fairview Boulevard. Officers found illicit drugs and currency, which were seized from the home.

A 54-year-old Windsor man is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, and crystal methamphetamine. He is also facing four counts of failing to comply with a release order.

A 55-year-old Windsor woman is also facing charges of possessing for the purpose of trafficking.

According to police, the seized drugs had a street value of around $188,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
