Assault suspect arrested

Windsor police have arrested and charged a suspect in connection to an assault investigation from September.

On September 8, police were called to Watkins Street, where someone was assaulted. Police believed the victim and suspect knew each other.

After an investigation, police identified a suspect and issued an arrest warrant.

Recently, the suspect was located on Sandwich Street with the help of the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement unit and Emergency Services Unit.

The 30-year-old was arrested and is facing charges of assault, choking, assault with a weapon, possessing a firearm, failing to comply with a release order, breach of firearms prohibition, and breach of probation.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
