Labour Ministry looking into industrial incident in Windsor

Investigators are on the scene of an apparent incident at an under-construction school in Windsor.

Police were called just before 3 p.m. to the school on Stillmeadow Road in the Forest Glade section on a report of an industrial accident. The school is being built near the current Parkview Public School.

It was not immediately clear what exactly happened, and at least one person was hurt.

The Greater Essex County District School Board declined comment when contacted by WindsorNewsToday.ca., referring questions to Fortis Group, the chief contractor on location. A message to Fortis Group seeking information was not immediately returned.

A WindsorNewsToday.ca reporter found multiple police vehicles on the scene.

Kalen McSween, a spokesperson for the Ontario Ministry of Labour, said in an email that the ministry is looking into the situation. However, he said any information may be delayed due to the Remembrance Day holiday.

More to come.
