Two more classes in Windsor-Essex have been dismissed due to COVID-19.
One class from St. Andre Catholic Elementary School in Tecumseh and another from St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School in River Canard were dismissed after the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported two cases of the virus Sunday.
Board spokesman Stephen Field said students will be notified when they are able to return to school.
“We have been working with the Health Unit by providing lists of students and staff who may have been directly affected,” said Field. “The health unit is contacting both students and staff who may have been affected and will give directions for them to follow.”
Parents are asked to continue self-screening their children each morning before sending them to school. If they have symptoms or feel ill, parents should keep them home and contact their health care provider for further instructions.
New cases of COVID-19 have also been confirmed at St. Gabriel Catholic Elementary School in Windsor.
Two classes and a bus cohort have also been dismissed from attending school Monday after three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were identified there.
