Man with pellet gun arrested in downtown Windsor

A Windsor man has been arrested and charged after police got a call about a person with a gun in downtown Windsor Tuesday.

Around 10:40 a.m., Windsor police officers responded to the area of Elliott Street West and Pelissier Street. Witnesses reported a man was seen pointing a firearm at someone on Ouellette Avenue. The suspect was then seen chasing another man, believed to be the victim, down Pelissier.

Police got a description of the suspect and began searching the area. Around 10:55 a man matching the suspect's description was found on Pelissier and was arrested without incident. Police seized a pellet gun from the man.

A 48-year-old Windsor man is facing charges of possessing a weapon dangerous to the public peace, breaching probation, and possessing a firearm while prohibited.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
