Mayor's golf tournament raises $55k

Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara's annual golf tournament raised $55,000 for local organizations this year.

The majority of those funds, $30,000, was given to the Farrow Riverside Miracle Park.

“We are so happy to support a facility that removes the barriers that keep children with mental, physical, cognitive and sensory challenges off the sports field and lets them experience the joy of playing," said Mayor McNamara. "For participants, it’s about so much more than playing a game, it’s about making new friends, building self-esteem, and being treated like any other kid.”

The remaining $25,000 raised from this year’s tournament was shared among an additional 20 community organizations.

The 12th Annual Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament was held at Beach Grove Golf & Country Club on September 13, 2021.
