Erie Shores Hospital chief of staff to leave position

Erie Shores Healthcare has begun the search for a new medical chief of staff.

The Leamington hospital announced Tuesday that Chief of Professional Staff and Interim CEO Dr. Ross Moncur will leave the position sometime in 2022.

According to a statement provided by hospital spokesman Kevin Black, Moncur is leaving ESHC to focus on his primary care practice.

"Dr. Moncur guided ESHC through some difficult pandemic times while also making substantial contributions to the adoption of CERNER and quality and process improvement," read the statement. "The hospital will miss his presence, wisdom, and leadership in the coming years."

Moncur will stay on at the hospital until a permanent replacement is named. The hospital has formed a subcommittee to take charge of that search and expects to have Moncur's successor named in the first half of next year.
