Two charged in Windsor drug investigation

Windsor police have arrested two people after officers witnessed an alleged drug transaction.

Officers from the City Centre Patrol Unit were patrolling the area of Glengarry Avenue near the Caesars Windsor parking garage at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday when they spotted a male and a female engaged in suspicious activity.

When the officers approached the pair, a small baggie containing an illicit drug was being discarded, and the two people were arrested. Further investigation uncovered more drugs and Canadian cash on the male suspect.

The 50-year-old man from Windsor is charged with possession of fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine with intent to sell. The 29-year-old woman from Windsor is charged with possession of crystal methamphetamine. Both are also accused of failing to comply with a release order.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
