Arson suspected in Windsor house fire

Windsor police are seeking the public's help in the investigation of a suspicious house fire.

Fire crews were called shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday to a home on Langlois Avenue near Cataraqui Street. Windsor Fire and Rescue said the fire in a basement area was quickly put out.

The fire did do significant damage to the home, but there were no injuries. A damage estimate has not been released.

The preliminary investigation determined that the fire was suspicious, and the Windsor police arson unit took over the probe.

Investigators are asking anyone in the area of Langlois Avenue and Cataraqui Street to check security camera footage and give them a call if anything unusual is found.
