UPDATE: Windsor man charged with first degree murder

A 23-year-old Windsor man has been arrested and charged after a shooting in Forest Glade Wednesday night.

Windsor police officers were called to the area of Forest Glade Drive and Wildwood Drive for reports of a shooting around 7:30 p.m.

Officers found a victim inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

A second victim was also injured in the shooting and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police quickly identified and located a suspect. A home on Lynngrove Court was contained by members of the Emergency Services Unit around 2:30 a.m. The suspect exited the home and was arrested without incident.

The Major Crime Unit continues to actively investigate this incident and is asking anyone in the area with surveillance cameras to check their footage for possible evidence.

Lawrence Davis has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, failing to comply with a release order, breach of probation and possessing a firearm while prohibited.

Police report there are no other suspects wanted in connection with the shooting.

Constable Talya Natyshak said the name of the deceased is not being released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation and the identity of the second victim.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
