Police investigating New Year's Day fire

Arson investigators are looking for information after a fire on New Year's Day in downtown Windsor.

The fire broke out around 7:30 p.m. in a vacant structure on Ouellette Avenue between Elliott Street West and Erie Street. The building was fully engulfed before Windsor Fire and Rescue was able to extinguish the blaze.

There were no injuries reported, however the structure had significant damage.

The fire is now being investigated as arson. Anyone in the area with surveillance cameras is asked to check their footage for possible evidence.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
