Assault in Leamington leads to charges

Two people are facing charges after an assault in Leamington earlier this week.

The Ontario Provincial Police were called to Oak Street around 11 p.m. on Monday. Investigators were told the victim was assaulted and threatened with an edged weapon by two men who were known to the victim.

The accused were identified and arrested.

A 32-year-old from Essex is facing charges of uttering death threats, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

A 23-year-old from Kingsville is facing charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The charges have been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
