Stolen vehicle involved in Leamington crash

A Windsor woman is facing charges after a vehicle stolen from the City of Windsor was involved in a crash in Leamington.

On Thursday night, OPP officers in Essex saw a suspicious vehicle that had been reported stolen from Windsor on County Road 20. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver took off. A tire deflation device was used on the car.

Later, the vehicle was seen entering Leamington on a flat tire. A short distance later the vehicle was involved in a collision.

The driver exited the vehicle and tried to run from the scene.

The 29-year-old was arrested and charged with running from police, theft of a motor vehicle, and dangerous operation of a vehicle. The charges have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
