Marmora man charged in connection to local break-ins

Essex County Ontario Provincial Police arrested and charged a man in connection with several break-ins at area businesses last month.

On December 10, 2021, OPP investigated multiple break-ins at local businesses in Lakeshore and Tecumseh. A suspect took off in a vehicle and ended up striking a police cruiser. There were no injuries after the collision.

The male suspect was identified after an investigation by the Essex County Street Crime Unit.

On Sunday, a 40-year-old from Marmora, Ontario, was arrested and charged with break-and-enter, possession of stolen property, mischief, dangerous operation of a vehicle and assault of a police officer with a weapon. The charges have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
