Local residents celebrating lottery wins

Two local residents are celebrating big lottery wins.

Alexsaundra Staats of Windsor won $100,000 from the LOTTO 6/49 draw on Christmas Day.

The prize was one of 10 guaranteed $100,000 prize draws from the Super Draw promotion.

“I thought I’d treat myself – when I looked at the winning numbers, I was in disbelief,” Staats shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “My daughter verified the win using the OLG App on her phone. We were both pretty amazed!”

She told OLG officials she plans to save most of the money but is going to ‘splurge’ on an Apple watch.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mac’s on Seminole Street in Windsor.
