Pair charged following Windsor drug investigation

A two-month probe into illicit drugs has resulted in the arrest of two Windsor residents.

The Windsor police's Drugs and Guns (DIGS) Unit began the probe in November 2021. The investigation uncovered a suspect and a home tied to the alleged operation.

On Wednesday, officers searched a vehicle stopped on Drouillard Road near Milloy Street, in which one of the suspects was riding as a passenger. While being arrested, police noticed a weapon that turned out to be loaded and took the driver into custody as well.

A home on Factoria Road near Milloy Street was searched by officers. An unspecified quantity of illicit drugs was confiscated.

Both a 32-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman are charged with possessing a prohibited firearm and device without a licence, improper transport of a firearm, occupying a vehicle with a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited weapon, and willful possession of a weapon with the serial number defaced.

The male suspect was also charged with cocaine possession with intent to sell, plus four counts apiece of possession of a firearm, a prohibited device, and ammunition while not permitted to do so.

The charges have not been proven in court.
