$100K of drugs seized by WPS

The Windsor Police Service Drugs and Guns Unit seized over $110,000 of illicit drugs during an investigation this week.

Police identified a suspect after an investigation was launched last October.

The suspect was located in the 1200 block of Pierre Avenue on Thursday and arrested without incident. The suspect’s vehicle was also found and seized as part of the investigation.

Police seized approximately $110,000 of illicit drugs and a loaded firearm inside the vehicle.

A 33-year-old from Whitby, Ontario, is facing charges of possession to traffic methamphetamine, cocaine and crack cocaine, possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm, and possession of a loaded prohibited weapon. The charges have not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
