Driver charged after vehicle crashes into Windsor home

Windsor police have arrested a 29-year-old man who allegedly crashed his vehicle into a house Tuesday night.

Emergency crews were called around 7 p.m. to the home on Robinet Road near Eastcourt Drive. The vehicle had crashed into the house, and the driver was trapped inside.

According to Constable Darius Goze, the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle before being taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A woman inside the home also went to hospital.

The house sustained serious damage.

The driver, from Windsor, has been charged with impaired operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm. The charge has not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
