Young child hit by vehicle near blockade

Windsor police say a man faces charges after a young girl was struck by a vehicle near the Ambassador Bridge blockade Friday evening.

The child was hit at the intersection of Tecumseh Road West and Huron Church Road according to police. The vehicle reportedly fled from the area after the incident.

Police say the girl suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The man was later arrested by officers and was charged with failing to remain at the scene of a crash. Police continue to investigate the crash.

An injunction granted by an Ontario Superior Court Justice late Friday afternoon took effect at 7 p.m. however, protestors remain in the area and have shown no signs of leaving according to several reports.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
