Windsor man charged in online child pornography investigation

Windsor police say a man faces charges after they were tipped off about a person suspected to be in possession of child pornography.

Members of the Windsor Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit launched the investigation after receiving information that an individual may have been involved in online child pornography offences.

A suspect was subsequently identified and on Wednesday morning, police located the accused on Tecumseh Road East near Jefferson Boulevard where he was arrested without incident.

The man, identified as 55-year-old Nicholas Wilhelm of Windsor is charged with possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography and distributing child pornography. The charges have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
