UPDATE: Careless smoking blamed for early morning house fire

Windsor fire officials have pinpointed careless smoking as the cause of a house fire in South Windsor early Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called to the home on Victoria Avenue between Medina Street and Grenada Avenue around 3 a.m.

The fire is out, but two people are out of their home.

No one was hurt but the fire caused $250,000 damage.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
