Cost of buying a home in Windsor-Essex jumps almost 45 per cent

Plan on looking at a new home this weekend? It's still very much a seller's market.

The average price of a home jumped again in February. This time, to $704,112, an increase of 44.7 per cent from February last year.

So far this year, prices are up 36.9 per cent from the first two months of 2021.

A total of 549 units changed hands, and most sold for between $420,000 and $699,999. There were 269 homes sold in that price range.

The jump in prices hasn't hurt sales. The Windsor Essex County Association of Realtors said sales climbed 8.9 per cent in February compared to the same month a year earlier, a clear signal that supply remains low.
