Strike vote set for unionized Caesars Windsor workers

Unionized employees at Caesars Windsor will take part in a strike authorization vote next week.

Unifor Local 444 announced Thursday afternoon that a virtual meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15 for the 1,800 members at the casino.

"Our solidarity together is a must!" read a statement posted on social media from Local 444. "Our resolve to see this fight through to the end is necessary, showing this company our belief in our worth sends a strong message that we are not to be provoked!”

In February, the union announced negotiations with Caesars Windsor were starting as the current contract expires on April 2.
