Active COVID-19 cases rising

Active cases of COVID-19 are rising slightly in Windsor-Essex.

The local health unit reported 98 new high-risk cases in the community bringing the active number of cases up to 311. This is an under-representation of cases in the community due to current testing restrictions.

A man in his 60s has passed away after testing positive for COVID-19.

Windsor Regional Hospital has 21 patients in its care who have tested positive for the virus. There are two patients in the intensive care unit.

There are four patients admitted to Erie Shores Healthcare with COVID-19.

The health unit is monitoring five active outbreaks in the community.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
