OPP charge driver who left the scene of an accident

The Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged a person after a collision in Kingsville in January.

Police reported the crash happened on January 26 on Road 4 East. They say a vehicle passed another vehicle, struck it, and ran it off of the roadway into a ditch before leaving the scene.

After releasing a photo of the vehicle to the public, police say they have identified the driver.

A 47-year-old from Windsor has been arrested and charged with the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to stop after an accident.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
